The Community Group “Friends for Ever of Villa Andrani” will begin their first loan cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Focal Center of Copacabana. The group has eight members and is directed by a board, of which Janneth is the president. The business the members are carrying out are varied. Among the businesses are the sale of milk, fruit salad and cheese, sewing traditional skirts, and knitting shawls.
The loan they will receive will help this group of small business women, of whom Janneth is one. She says that is the firt time she has belonged to a Pro Mujer group, having been invited by a promotor who came to visit her home. Janneth now has a busiess knitting shawls. She wants it known that she began his business three years ago with encouragement from her mother and sister, who also make these products. The loan Janneth will receive is for increase of capital (purchase of wool in bulk). She will make the purchase from the wholesale vendors of the city of La Paz, and later after working the l, will sell things in her vending stall. This type of work allows Janneth to generate resources to support her family, since she lives in a civil union. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, Janneth answers that she is pleased with the funding offered by the organization.
